The Story Behind Vintage Essence

URBANO CARDINALE

The first Urbano Cardinale collection is called Vintage Essence.
The name came from a feeling, not a mood board. Vespa culture,
the kind you find in old Italian photographs, people going
somewhere with one good bag and nothing extra. Freedom that
looks effortless because it actually is.

The leather comes from Italian and French fashion houses that
have been working with the same material for generations.
Full-grain, naturally grained, lightweight. A bag from this
collection does not feel like you are carrying a bag. That
was the point.

There is a mascot. A dog in a cardinal's hat. The dog is loyal
and always ready to go somewhere. The cardinal's hat is Italian,
elegant, and slightly absurd in the best way. Together they say
what the collection says, that serious quality and a sense of
humor are not opposites. The best things usually have both.

Look at any piece in the collection and you will find arrows.
They run through the design as a detail, not a decoration.
A nod to movement, to the people who carry these bags and
do not stay still.

Every piece in Vintage Essence is designed to work with the
others. The colors, the stitching, the forms. A Sapphire wallet
next to a Walnut bag. An Ivory accordion next to an Indigo tote.
Mix them and they still make sense together, because they were
designed that way from the beginning.

This is not a wardrobe staple. It is a starting point.
